Marshall Laing Primary School is a school dedicated to providing the best possible opportunities for students to achieve in mathematics, reading and writing while ensuring we deliver a well rounded curriculum to every student.
This year we have nine Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) classrooms, four classes in Year 3/4 and five in Year 5/6. In these classes children are able to bring an internet capable device to assist their learning. The teachers in these classes support students to use their devices as a tool to deliver the best possible learning and teaching outcomes for each child. Every other classroom has a range of digital tools available to them, including Chromebooks and iPads.
We understand that delivering a balanced curriculum that motivates is important for our students and our teachers! Therefore we provide our students with rich learning experiences during Inquiry learning topics. Examples of this are Movement, Storytelling and Identity. We also have very strong arts and physical education programmes.
To ensure the needs of all students are met we have both extension and support programmes when the need is identified. In the past we have run extension programmes in science, maths, dance, drama and music. Our support programmes focus on the core curriculum areas of maths, reading and writing.
Our general curriculum includes a variety of challenging courses that meet or exceed state requirements. Suitable class sizes and exceptional, qualified teachers allow Marshall Laing Primary School to offer an intimate and inclusive educational environment, while also ensuring each student receives the individualized attention and support they need.
